I had attended the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta for three years and had come home with many pictures of the worlds largest ballooning event. They were vibrant pictures of the many colored balloons in a blue sky and they looked just like everybody else’s.

 

They also did not portray the sense of action and drama I had felt in being surrounded by 400 balloons floating in all directions.  I came up with an idea of how to capture this feeling on film and three years and many rolls of film later I accomplished my goal. If you look closely you will be able to pick out each balloons flight path.
